Wow, the balls are all rolling here at Sinister from our base in New Hampshire straight out across the pond, everywhere! It's so exciting to not only be spearheading an effort to increase our exposure , but to see how much of a team effort it is and how eclectic of a group we have, "spreading the love".
Our goal here isn't to be a hyper-effecient, corporate style sales and marketing team but to truly assemble a group of people that truly represent the amazing diversity that we have in our great sport. Dudes and chicks, old and young, x-c or DH, west coast or east coast all with different approaches and ideas on how to make a dent in the market.
I developed the position of "Lifestyle Representative" because it is more of a true description of people involved in the effort. We are not looking for people to be stuck in cubicles and work themselves to the point of death and never ride or ski or surf or more importantly spend time with loved ones. Stress is not a motivator but inspiration is. We are inspired to do our jobs, and do them well because we are able to ride and have time to pursue passions.
We have new Lifestyle Representatives(LR's) that are incredible people that inspire me everyday.
People like Dan Diaz, who is not only an industry legend but just about the chillest dude ever. Now by chill I do not mean he does not charge because the guy spends more time aboard bikes and skis in a year than most do in a lifetime! He ski's 100 plus days a year in the Montana backcountry, runs ultra-marathons and does solo 24 hour bike races. He says his wife is even faster than him!
Or Lilias Ide, our Pacific Northwest LR who is truly addicted to spreading the gospel of freeriding, building trails and getting more riders into the sport. She is also an accomplished potter, snowboarder and was even in the circus! She has been recently profiled for a feature for woman in extreme sports, turrns out she isn't too hard on the eyes too so keep your eyes peeled for her shredding on her DNA or Splinter MX.
We have some new blood as well out in the Utah area, Curtis Ellis. Curtis is an accomplished rider and outdoor athlete who just breathes stoke! I can't wait to see what he drums up out in his neck of the woods!
Then we have people that aren't paid as Lifestyle Representatives but do it anyway, always out pushing, scratching and fighting for people to stand up and take notice of what we have going on here in the woods of beautiful New Hampshire. They are out getting us photos in magazines, shooting video and pics, setting up new dealers, volunteering at events, posting in online forums, re-designing our website, creating new softgood and sticker designs, testing bikes, being gophers, helping us with design or helping fund the dream. Taking care of people in our pits at races, keeping their bellies full, and their lips wet...the list could go on and on!You all know who you are and don't think we don't know who you are or notice you or appreciate ever morsel of your efforts!
We also have fellow builders, designers and even competitors that help out along the way and of course our customers! Without you.......we'd be squat!
It is truly a team effort and it feels good to be a part of it all...stay tuned for details on the battlefield!
Mahalos to all!
peace
