New Season, New Company, New News!

Happy Spring!

We have an exciting season planned out and .........A new name for our corporation, "Freeride Endeavors Inc".  The new corporation will not only bring you the great Sinister brand that you all love but also future plans for an adventure tour division and eventually a non-profit branch as well!  We have a far larger vision for the business than just making the best bike frames on the market, come on!
Also, beginning real soon, we will have our own exclusive Sinister Bikes online forum! Look for not only standard categories but also "niche" categories that all Sinister(and even Spooky) fans will appreciate! Keep your eyes peeled as we will launch the new forum around the first of the month.
Sustainable clothing line will be began, slowly as funds allow but is very important to us here at Freeride Endeavors. Look for some outrageous new fabrics used with the Sinister logo proudly attached!
Sinister Kick-off party.  That is right....we need to launch this company, this season and what better way than to ride, build and then party like rock stars!  We'll keep you posted on that as well.
Help wanted! We are looking for some contract work for tour guides that are fully EMT-first aid /CPR certified , have their own insurance and are obviously competent all around bikers, especially downhill. Pay is according to experience and will be a payout at the end of whatever tour we are on. Sinister buying privileges,  industry ins and a chance to be the coolest kid on the block are here for the taking.
Tours will be held throughout New England with the bulk of them being in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Please submit resume and bio to perpetualmocean@yahoo.com and we''ll get you started!
We also have some new designs in the works and some old ones on hold. Ok, I can't tell you about the new stuff yet but can say that we will NOT be releasing any VST designs in 2007. Due to the price of continued R+D, we just plain need more time to develop the system. We will have some very suitable replacements coming out that are gonna crush it!
In the meantime......get out and ride, surf, climb and just have fun@##!!!
peace
skye

our passion

Together, our passion is riding. Skye's passion is surfing too. One of Rob's passions is XC skiing. Not talking about love interests here.. you can passionate towards a human, a place or anything really but your passion? it's what you want to do. How do I tell what my passion is? When I am stuck it traffic, frustrated, I think about a new bike design. My passion. Sure I want to ride it. Ya I want others to see it.. but really? I do it for me. Not for you. It would be awsome if you like what I do. If you appreciate it and can relate it to your passion. Skye named our new bike. Passion. I didn't ask him how he came up with that name. I really didn't have to though. I hear him talk about ride days, people he cares for , places he has been. Passion.

You may consider a guy like Skye lucky. He gets to ride, surf, has a rad girl. lives on the beach. make it the way he wants it. He's not afraid of his passion. he does not fear it, he goes after it. We were hangin' in Portsmouth and he and Stompy were talking about getting weird infections and medical emergencies in small countries, places I had never heard of. Seems nuts to me.. it's not my passion, it's theirs.

My passion is building bikes, love to ride them. I also love lanie and my kids, Roz, Steph and Matt.. Building bikes is my passion. and though it's not finished here is the result, to date of my Passion. Passion. Passionreduced

crushed

There is something to be said for just staying on the bike. Don't work, sleep or do anything else. Perhaps you had already considered this. I don't take calls when I ride. I don't pay bills or spend money. Though sometimes I get hurt, it is never while riding. Injury only happens immediately after I stop riding and as long as I am moving nothing hurts (I did catch my pinky finger on a tree at Whiteface) USUALLY.

While riding I don't get any older. Usually I actually feel younger during a ride. Younger, stronger, no worries and nothing to consider but my path through the roots on the next climb.

So here we are, not on a bike. Whats up with that?

overflow

Interbike. Lets all get excited. Call here and chat. Send an email. Tell a friend. Stop by. Remind me. Mention my name and get something for free. Make a suggestion.

Circumstances are always blured. Evidence is tampered with. Clocks changed or simply removed. The freezer has been defrosted, who did this? . You know what I mean? Things have a habit of just getting up and moving on their own. I never seem to get full even though you think I would. Specially considering, well.. the conditions. One might say. What are these conditions? circumstances? didn't I mention? When you really turn up the wick. When you are really pinning it. Putting the strain to the chain, the pedal to the metal. You are not "letting it come to you" No, you know what I mean. I want to do so much. At least two, may be three new products (three more than the OTHER new ones). Mounted up high on rotating stands that once a day shoot Tootsy-rolls out into the crowds. Tranny bikes, two wheel drives, inverted servo controlled overhead modulators. You know the stuff. The stuff dreams are made of.

It takes more time than it should. Decisions have to be made. Big ones. Everyone must be there. All parties must be represented. No one here has the authority and I have the credentials to prove it.  I could go on like this for days. considering we still have a couple of weeks. You are going?..right? Riiight...

too much fun

Ya got to be sick of it. Too much, way over the top.. This past weekend at Jiminy was awsome. the little splash of rain we received friday left the conditions perfect. Slippery for sure, but that keeps things interesting. I went out by myself for the first run. Nice and easy.

My second run was a total blast. Riding way over my head and for the second time down the mountain way too stupid fast for me. I am sure those guys were trying to kill me. I followed a guy on a new giant. the guy rode some pretty innovative lines. I was keeping up pretty well till.. well you know the story.. lost concentration, then the front end. No harm, no foul.

My next two runs were on a slower but way more tech with some 'nam locals. The pace was a bit slower but the level of tech multiplied by four. My glasses started fogging up and I think I lost 5 lbs struggling to dog paddle when I unclipped on slippery uphill roots.. guess the guys I was riding with missed them somehow.. We stopped and sessioned a drop. It was fun.

I ended up dropping off that group to de-fog and doing another solo, msuch slower but I jumped and pumped everything and really felt good.. a few more runs with the kids and I needed a nap.

Stopped at Michaels greek resturant for a great meal.. now.. .Monday morning.. I just feel so damn good..

freyed words

It's unusual for me to allow people to set my mood on the wrong path. I reserve that right for myself. I got a little set off yesterday during dinner. Lanie and I hadn't seen much of each other for several days and I thought it would be nice to take her to dinner at the local tavern. They have  seperate bar and meal areas so it's nice and quiet. Hey, I use machines all day and after subjecting myself to the constant drone of a TIG welding macine I like a little quiet.

It was not to be. Our friendly hostess seated us between two couples. I am pretty good with eastern US accents and I would have to place these folks from Long Island. I used to get my painting done on "strong island" and enjoy going there. Know plenty of folks from LI also. These people must have been from a part of town I had never been. The part where everyone in the room gives a flying %&(#$@ where you go when you stay on the vinyard (it wasn't Daves fold out, where I would likely stay) or the block that counts blisters on your feet while you "shop till you drop" on Fifth avanue. Must be in the zip code where they yell across a whole room, their cholesterol count.

I almost lost it. Hey, we got some miles in on the new proto. It's sick..lets talk soon.. F

bearing fruit

Ya, I know I spelled "bearing" wrong. At least you think. It's a play on words. Bearings, suspension, you get it. The reason I am in such a jovial mood is the G3 version of our VST suspension bike is running. It hauls ass. I still am overdamped and oversprung a but you certainly can feel where this thing is going. I am going to bring it to Mt Snow this weekend. You can ride it.

I am really stoked on the way this season has been going. I am happy with the progress of the bikes. People from all over are checkin' in to see whats up. A guy is Slovakia is riding an R9. It's a big deal to me. All our customers are a big deal to me. I hope that feeling never goes away.
